Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions:
1. Do you test on animals?
We do not test on animals. All of our products were tested on massage clients during the development stage. As vegetarians ourselves we will never test on animals and we would also never buy products for our own use that are tested on animals.
2. What's the difference between massage mediums?
Massage oil is by far the most popular medium for massage. Massage oil has been used for centuries and for good reason. It spreads well, carries essential oils that have therapeutic benefits and is cost effective. In our massage oils we use grapeseed, apricot kernel and avocado oils. They are all natural products and have been blended to give a nice thickness and consistency for a massage.
Massage wax is solid at room temperature but quickly dissolves in the hands ready for a nice smooth massage, with a bit more grip. Like our oils, our massage wax is made from 100% natural ingredients and essential oils. The massage wax has the added benefit of not spilling, so it's a bit of a carpet saver! Or massage wax is very smooth, due to the manufacturing process we use and the mango butter which is included in the base ingredients.
3. What is the shelf live of your products?
Our massage products have gone through extensive testing by ourselves on clients, and with a registered chemist. We conducted a stability test in the process and the products have been guaranteed to be stable for at least 12 months upon opening.
4. Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free shipping on all orders over £50.
5. Are your products suitable for vegetarians?
All of our products are suitable for vegetarians. As yet the massage wax is not suitable for vegans as it contains beeswax, but we are working on the right formula to bring a vegan wax to the market. The massage oils are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
6. Are your products suitable for children and pregnant women?
The only products that are suitable for pregnant women are the unscented massage wax and oil. Essential oils should not be used by women whilst pregnant due to the effect that they can have on the hormones, which can interfere with the pregnancy. For more information please visit this article on netmums.
7. Why do you use mango butter?
We use mango butter simply because we love it! We tried a lot of different base ingredients in developing the product and settled on mango butter because it gave us everything we needed. It's excellent for the skin, is solid at room temperature which means we use less beeswax, and it absorbs beautifully into the skin. For more information visit our ingredients page.
When we were developing the products we tried other solids such as shea butter and cocoa butter, but we felt that they were better suited to different products due to the consistency the mango gave us. However, we do have some nice recipes for lip balm and and hand balm made from shea and cocoa butter, which we may develop in the future.
8. Are your products made in the UK?
We make all of our massage products here in Newcastle upon Tyne, and we will pledge to never outsource manufacturing because we want to bring you the best massage wax and massage oils on the market, and with that responsibility comes care and attention to details.
